The Boys are Back

Fri, 14/02/2014 - 16:37

The 2014 year brings with it some changes of sorts to the staff at Jemalong Wool. In Cooma, we welcome Ed Thomas to the team. Ed has started what we hope will be a long and successful career with us, in the role of Technical Services. Ed finished his schooling last year at St Gregory's College, and commenced his traineeship earlier this month. Whilst Ed is currently learning the operations of the wool store, he will soon commence training as an auctioneer.

Up at Forbes, and the Technical Team there has been boosted by the return to a full time role of David Quirk. Whilst David had never really left, he had been operating on a more part time basis. David has returned to fill the new role of Area Manager, Central West.

Still in Forbes, and we are pleased to announce the return of Sandy Paterson as our Wool Store Manager. Sandy left us about three years ago to work as a farm manager, and to expand his part time fencing business. Fortunately for us, Sandy agreed to return as Store Manager, and has already got the shop in ship shape. This has also allowed Steve (Quirk) time to concentrate on what he does best, and that is to look after an extensive clientele. Steve's area is known to us as Western Plains.

Finally, up in Tamworth, we're excited to welcome back to the fold Grahame Scott (aka Scotty). Scotty has returned as Store Manager, after a stint with a local abattoir. Scotty's return has opened the door for David Hallam to be promoted to Technical Services, and to take the load of Tim. David has wasted no time at all, and is now regularly attending sales. Hopefully we see David with the gavel in hand in the not too distant future.
